A Gazette reporter asked Hampshire County Council to explain the reason for the closure.

A spokesperson said: “Southern Water were undertaking repairs to their own network infrastructure over the weekend which required one lane of the Brighton Hill roundabout to be closed.

"This work is now complete, and all lanes are open as normal.”
