A COLOURFUL river of light flowed through Basingstoke on Friday, November 3, as the town celebrated Diwali with a spectacular event.
The event, organised by Kala The Arts, brought hundreds of people of all ages and different communities to celebrate Diwali.

Light It Up 2023 featured a spectacular parade of hundreds of decorated lanterns.
Flowing through Basingstoke in a moving theatre of dancers, musicians and performers, the parade reached the Amphitheatre outside the Vue at Festival Place at 7pm, where the crowd was treated to a free show with different South Asian dance and music by both international and local groups.
Members of the public were wowed by dancing, drumming, lanterns, illuminated installations and theatre costumes.
