Basingstoke Town Football Club has signed a new defender.

Hamilton Bunga, a 28-year-old central defender, has previously played for Hemel Hempstead, Stratford Town and is the former captain of Rushden & Diamonds.

The signing was announced on the Basingstoke Town FC website and social media page on October 17.

Hamilton said: “I’m excited to be here. I’m really pleased to sign for Basingstoke.

“I’ve already had a chance to meet the boys and felt very welcomed by the staff and players. It’s a good feeling.

“I’m really impressed by the direction the club is heading and I’m looking forward to playing my part. I’m excited to get started!”

Manager of Basingstoke Town FC Dan Brownlie said: “The signing makes for great timing. We’ve wanted to bolster our defensive options for a few weeks now.

“We’ve got so many games coming up – it’s important that we have good bodies.

“Hamilton’s enthusiasm is infectious – he’s got great experience, a good talker and has that warrior spirit about him. It’s a pleasure to welcome him to the club.”
