Hook & Newnham Basics seconds and Hartley Wintney inflicted heavy defeats on incoming Winchester Southern Premier Division 2 pair Sparsholt and St Cross Symondians II on respective trips to North Hampshire, writes Mike Vimpany.
Tom Ley (3-37) struck two early blows for Sparsholt before Hook & Newnham Basics' third wicket pair Dan Moore, with a career-best 124, and Kevin Light (80) unleashed a double century partnership to point the hosts to a towering 295 all out.
Moore smashed 16 fours and two sixes during his onslaught.
Lucas Parsons took 4-72 as Hook lost their last seven wickets for 44 runs, but by then the damage had been done.
Only Usman Akram (47), Ley (31) and Felix Thomas (26) made a mark as Sparsholt fell to 192 all out, spinner Charlie Neville taking 4-39.
Tom Foyle (48) gave St Cross Symondians a typically forceful start at Hartley Wintney, but the visitors lost wickets in clusters after that as Jamie Teale (3-24) triggered the visitors downfall.
St Cross lurched to 122-8 before Dave Orchard (42)and Pierre Forster (23) gave their final 184 some respectability.
Jon Kerr (55) and Hugo Hammond (59) hit half-centuries to set up a comfortable five-wicket win for Hartley Wintney. Dave Orchard took 3-44.
