A TRAMPOLINE centre in Basingstoke has moved to reassure customers after it closed suddenly due to a suspected chemical incident that saw two people taken to hospital.
A large-scale emergency response was called to Flip Out in Basingstoke's Festival Place on Saturday at 6.30pm after a suspicious smell was reported.
The fire service said there were concerns that potentially hazardous materials were present.
Fire appliances and ambulances were seen parked outside the centre and at the nearby bus station.
However, a spokesperson from Flip Out has now issued a statement - saying the building has been declared safe.

They said: “We had to close Flip Out Basingstoke early on Saturday afternoon following concerns over an unusual smell that made some staff members feel unwell. Two members of staff were taken to hospital as a precaution.
“We have worked with the facilities management team and the fire brigade at Festival Place Shopping Centre to undertake thorough checks on the heating, ventilation and fresh air system and they have all been declared safe by the fire brigade so it was safe to reopen today.
“To ensure that we are 100 per cent happy with the checks that we carried out yesterday, engineers are carrying out more checks on the main plant room of the shopping centre today and we are currently awaiting the results of this.
“Flip Out Basingstoke is open today until 9pm. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to customers yesterday who were affected by the early closure.”
