A Hampshire town has been ranked as the second-best place to have a picnic in the UK, according to new research.

Aldershot over in eastern Hampshire was ranked second on the list from The Cocktail Co, which had Wirksworth over in Derbyshire in the first place.

The research analysed Google searches over the past five years, with the term 'picnic' being searched the most around June 1.

Additionally, Aldershot ranked second on the list for locations where ‘picnic’ searches were highest, and with nearby spots such as spots such as Manor Park and Lakeside Nature Reserve to choose from it's perhaps understandable.

Manor Park is also well-received on Tripadvisor, with a score of 4/5 from 34 reviews.
