MARWELL ZOO, along with the Gazette, is on the lookout for 12 stunning photographs that show the beauty and character of their wonderful Marwell animals.

Whether you fancy yourself as the next Suzi Eszterhas, Nick Brandt or Frans Lanting, or you just like to dabble on family days out, they want to see your snaps.

From portraits of the tiniest partula snail to action shots of the tallest giraffe, if you’ve managed to get the perfect angle you could be in the chance of winning.

This year the competition has been split into categories:

  • Birds (2 winners)
  • Big cats (2 winners)
  • Large mammals (3 winners
  • Small mammals (2 winners)
  • Invertebrates (1 winner)
  • Reptiles and fish (2 winners)

The overall winner will have the privilege of having their credited picture featured on the calendar’s front cover, and they’ll win some amazing prizes as well.

The winning entry from the Basingstoke Gazette Camera Club will win a calendar of their own, so make sure to join our group on Facebook by clicking here.

The top prize includes a photography experience day worth £350 plus an annual membership so you can come back and use your new skills as many times as you like.

The 2024 calendar will feature 12 photographs in total so the 11 runners-up will each get to see their photograph in the calendar too.

They’ll also each win two adult day tickets to the zoo and a copy of the calendar as a keepsake.
