"THE season isn't over yet" says Basingstoke Town FC chairman Jack Miller, as the Dragons pursue more silverware following a dramatic claim to the League title this weekend.

The 'Stoke may still be celebrating their first league title since 1985, but they still have two cup finals to play for.

Basingstoke will face Bournemouth XI in the Hampshire Senior Cup final at Fratton Park on Wednesday, May 10, and on an as yet unconfirmed date, will also face Romsey Town in the North Hampshire Senior Cup final.

Jack is optimistic about bringing more silverware to the town, after the title win on Saturday he told the Gazette: "We can enjoy our night tonight, maybe have a few sore heads in the morning, but we need to have a think about the cup games."

He added: "There is more to play for so we will try not to get carried away."

Manager Dan Brownlie said: "We've got these two cup finals to play for so now we have to rest and recover and go again."

He continued: "The boys are capable, in the past the phrase 'typical Basingstoke' used to mean something had gone wrong, but now it feels really positive to say, it's more hopeful."

He added: "It's been a remarkable season, and now we've got these two more bites at the cherry to enjoy, we've got our work cut out against two good sides but while we're there we'll compete and hopefully come away with another trophy."
