A POPULAR swimming pool in Tadley has been closed suddenly for urgent repairs after an adjustable pool floor experienced “a technical fault”.

The pool at Tadley Health and Fitness Centre has been closed as it is in need of repair, members have been informed.

The closure came as a shock for members who had booked their sessions for Easter holidays.

An email was sent out to members on Thursday April 6, informing them that the pool is “in need of repair” before the centre can “safely reopen” it.

The email read: “The works to repair the pool floor will unfortunately be extensive and while our team are already working hard to get repairs underway, it is highly likely the pool will be out of operation for 2 - 3 weeks.”

The centre said direct debit members will have their membership frozen to avoid taking money while the pool is closed.

Their membership will only be reactivated again when the pool is opened, the email read.

The centre added: “We understand how disappointing this news is, especially during the Easter holiday period. “The safety of our members is paramount and we hope this short closure won't disrupt the great progress pupils have been making in their lessons.

“We aim to reopen the pool as soon as we can and we will keep our members updated with the progress on the pool repairs. If you have any questions about the pool closure or what it means for your membership, please contact our team on 0118 981 7818 or email us.

“We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this closure period and look forward to welcoming you back to the pool very soon.”
