ONE of the oldest social clubs in the country has organised a range of events to help with its fundraising.
Sherborne St John Social Club has undergone lots of work and investment in the last few months, with members working hard to raise funds to keep it going.
The social club hosted a cheese and wine evening on April 1, before delighting local Ed Sheeran fans with news of an upcoming tribute night on April 15.

A member of Sherborne St John Social Club's committee said: "We have an enthusiastic committee who want to rejuvenate the passion of the local community of Sherborne and surrounding areas and bring everyone together again with exciting events at the social club."
May 6 will see the social club host a free breakfast to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III, following this will be events for all the family and later live music from a band. Members will be able to access this for free, with non-members needing to pay £1.
The next week is a Eurovision party on May 13, before a comedian named Charlie Suggit will appear at the social club the following weekend on May 20. More events are set to follow throughout June and July.

A spokesperson for Sherborne St John Social Club said: “We undertook a survey within the community to understand what type of events they were interested in attending and the survey results came back with lots more tribute bands, family events, a beer festival barbecue, so that is what we’re going to do.
"We are really excited about the events we have lined up over the coming months, with lots of family-friendly events, and our customers are sharing our excitement, which is even better. The events have been very well attended since the work and investment we have put into the social club, and it's great to see the club being used more and more."
They added: "Our ticket prices are competitive for the events we have put on, and we've had some great feedback so far. The feedback is fantastic as obviously, we want to be able to offer the customers exactly what they’re looking for.”
