Basingstoke Ladies 5s secured their league title last week with a 5-0 win against Petersfield.

There were two goals for Maiya Hamilton, two for Emily Romain and one for Gabby Milstead.

Basingstoke are champions of South-Central Ladies Division 2 Solent Area and will play in Division 1 next season. They have one final game remaining this week, as they travel to play second-placed Haslemere Ladies 4s.

Basingstoke Men’s 3s were also confirmed champions of South-Central Men’s Division 5 South with a 4-2 win against Fareham Men’s 6s.

Goals came from Will Delves, Toby Osborne, Alex Hope and Cian O’Reilly. They play their final game of the season this week against 10th-placed Winchester Men’s 5s.

Basingstoke Ladies 1s, sponsored by K J Smith Solicitors, travelled to face Trojans last week. Basingstoke had an unfortunate first quarter in which Trojans took their early chances well and put two goals past Basingstoke.

Trojans continued to put pressure on Basingstoke in the second quarter, however, Basingstoke also created some close chances on goal, with Bella Roche and Roxanne Record both close to scoring and one chance stopped on the line by Trojans.

The player of the match was Ellie Williams for her outstanding performance in centre midfield. Despite this, Basingstoke were unable to convert any chances and the score remained 0-2 at full-time.

Basingstoke now sit ninth out of ten teams in the league and require a win in their final game of the season against Reading Ladies 2s this week for a chance to remain in National League Conference West for next year.

Basingstoke Men’s 1s lost 1-4 in a relegation battle with Slough Men’s 1s. Basingstoke have their final game of the season at home against Maidenhead this week, with a win needed to keep any hopes of staying in the league alive.  

Basingstoke Ladies 2s suffered a late 0-1 loss to league winners Wycombe Ladies 1s. Basingstoke Men’s 2s lost 2-4 to Alton Men’s 1s.

Basingstoke Ladies 3s beat Trojans Ladies 4s 5-0, with two goals each for Sarah Shearing and Tania Bridge. Basingstoke Ladies 4s drew 1-1 with Alton Ladies 2s, sitting just two points ahead of Basingstoke Ladies 3s, sixth place in their league as they go into the last game.

Basingstoke Ladies 6s lost 0-2 against Haslemere Ladies 5s. Basingstoke Men’s 6s lost 1-5 against Petersfield Men’s 3s.

This week at home, both Men’s 1s and Ladies 1s are in action at 11 45 and 14 00 respectively for their final games of the season. Both teams are still in a relegation battle and need all the support they can get so please come down.
