DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a woman whose badly burned body was found stuffed in a suitcase have released further details about a vehicle they believe may be connected with the crime.

The identity of the victim, who was found by a dog walker just off Wayfarer's Way in Dummer early last Thursday, is still not known.

But officers are following numerous lines of inquiry in a desperate attempt to find out who she is.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary O'Flaherty, leading the investigation, would like to speak to anyone who has seen a green or blue Vauxhall Cavalier, registration L237 RWJ, since Monday, May 5.

It is believed the vehicle is in the London area.

Officers also want to speak to anyone who may have bought the vehicle, either as a private sale, as a part exchange or for scrap.

A 27-year-old man who was arrested yesterday in London by officers from Hampshire Constabulary, remains in police custody and is being quizzed by detectives.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Operation Fletcher incident room, at the major crime department in Basingstoke, on 0845 045 4545.
