CARERS at three homes in the borough have been celebrated.
St Thomas Care Home, in St Thomas Close' Ashcombe House, in Worting Road, both in Basingstoke, and Cherry Blossom Care Home, in Bramley, all run by Barchester Healthcare, held a day of celebrations and gifts to thank care staff at the home who make a difference to the lives of those in their care.
The day was held as part of National Carers Week last week, an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities .
Louise Lambert, general manager at Ashcombe House, said: “I am very proud of the carers within Ashcombe. Our carers work hard to provide high quality, personalised care to the people living here, often go above and beyond the call of duty and have a huge impact on people’s lives."
General manager of St Thomas Care Home Helena Hawkins added: “They also offer friendship and comfort to residents and their relatives during what can be a very emotional time.
"We appreciate the work they do all year round."
