PRO-European campaigners recently met Basingstoke this week to set up a group to keep the pressure on local.
The new group, for members of the European Movement UK, is supporting the People’s Vote campaign to demand a public vote on the final Brexit deal and is planning events around the two starting on Saturday, 28 April.
Philip Nield, acting secretary of North Hampshire for Europe, said: “Brexit is too big to ignore and it’s not a done deal. We want our local MPs, Maria Miller, Kit Malthouse and Ranil Jayawardena, to be well aware that there are many of their constituents who see that the government’s handling of the Brexit process is in a mess and it’s very likely MPs will be presented with a bad deal.”
The newly formed group will be holding further meetings in Basingstoke in the upcoming weeks.
