A 50 year celebration exhibition is now on display in the centre of Basingstoke.
The Arts Society Basingstoke has mounted a Golden Jubilee Exhibition at the Willis Gallery to celebrate 50 years of The Arts Society.
The exhibitors are drawn from among members of the group and exhibits include painting, photography, embroidery and pottery.
An opening reception on Saturday, 5 April ,was attended by Maria Miller, MP and the deputy mayor and mayoress of Basingstoke and Deane, Councillor Sean Keating and Gwen Keating, respectively, as well as the exhibitors and committee members of The Arts Society Basingstoke.
After a welcome by Julia Townsend-Rose, chairman of The Arts Society Basingstoke, Chris Esplin Jones, area chairman, opened the exhibition with a description of how the Arts Society began.
The exhibition runs at the Willis Museum until May 12.
