IT WAS another successful year for the Hatch Warren fireworks display organised by the Hatch Warren Community Centre.

Four and a half thousand people filled the area to see the display that was put on, with the event being packed to capacity, matching last year.

51 volunteers helped out on November 4 to make sure that the event ran smoothly and was a success.

The sell-out event was put on by the Hatch Warren Community Centre, who run events every month in order to keep the centre going.

Chair of the Hatch Warren Community Centre, Karen Coomber, said: "It was a lovely family event, packed with a lot of families. The area filled quickly with a lot of people, and the event was a sell-out, with all the tickets being sold the day before the fireworks were put on.

"We have had some great feedback from families who came to the event, saying that they had a good time and that the £20 family ticket was good value for money."

It wasn't just fireworks, with adults and children being treated to a range of activities. There were all different sorts of games for the children, and there was food and a licensed bar for the adults.

All the money that was made from the event will be put back into the community centre, allowing the facilities to grow and improve.

The Community Centre will next be putting on a Christmas Craft Fair on November 26, from 1pm-4pm, with plenty of stalls and fun planned.
