VOLUNTEERS were rewarded with a tea party after their hard work during this year’s Volunteer Week.

Around 500 volunteers from across the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs hopsitals in Basingstoke, Andover, and Winchester, were treated to a cup of tea and a slice of cake for all their work during the year.

Volunteers help the hospitals in many ways, including helping on the wards, driving patients to and from appointments, talking to patients, and even recruiting more volunteers, to name a few.

Donna Green, chief nurse, said: “It’s really good to be able to recognise the efforts of our volunteers because we are incredibly grateful for everything they do.”
