A STUDENT photographer from Basingstoke has made the final of a national competition.
Jamie Brown, a former Peter Sy monds College student, is a finalist in the AoC (Association of Colleges) Student Photographer of the Year competition.
The 18-year-old had h is photographs selected from hundreds submitted by students from colleges in the country on the theme ‘What Matters Most’.
He said: “I heard about the competition in the summer from Kitty Yarwood, the college sports maker, because she knows how much photography means to me and how much of it I do.”
Jamie is now working in marathon photography but his long-term ambition is to be a nature and street photographer.
He added: “To be selected as a finalist in this national competition is a real honour and a great tribute to my art.”
The winner will be announced in November.
Michael Pritchard, director general of Royal Photographic Society, will judge the entries, choosing a winner based on the level of creativity and the ability to demonstrate this year’s theme.
