A POPULAR angler was remembered at an annual memorial fishing match.
Family and friends of Terry Dobbie gathered at Bowsaw Lake, near Roke Farm, Odiham, for an annual memorial charity fishing match on Saturday.
Mr Dobbie, from Popley, Basingstoke, died at the age of 53 in 2007 after losing his battle with stomach cancer.
His nearest and dearest have turned up to the Odiham lake – Mr Dobbie’s favourite fishing spot – for the last nine years to raise much-needed funds for St Michael’s Hospice, in Aldermaston Road, where he spent the end of his life.
Around 25 people basked in the sunshine and went head-to-head for the two top prizes – the biggest catch and the heaviest bag.
The event was organised by Terry’s daughter Laura, with her husband Scott.
Laura, said: “He was the greatest man in my life.”
The sponsors for this year’s event were Bato Baits, NBM Engraving and Tadley Angling.
