Twenty five firefighters from Basingstoke fire station, as well as firefighters from Winchester, were called to an accident after a vehicle went up a bank and rolled over on the M3 southbound between junction eight and nine just after 9am this morning.
The driver of the Volkswagen car was trapped and firefighters took an hour to cut him out of the vehicle.

All three people travelling in the car were taken to Basingstoke hospital.
The driver, a man in his 80s, suffered serious arm injuries and the two passengers had minor injuries.
Police closed the road to investigate the accident with tailbacks stretching as far as junction six of the M3.
