A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a collision between a car and a van this afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to reports of a head-on collision between a car and a van on the A33 near to the slip road leading to Sherfield-on-Loddon at around 1.35pm this afternoon.
Two fire engines, with nine firefighters, attended the scene and took 40 minutes to free the female from her car.
South Central Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle and one ambulance crew to the scene and the female was taken to Basingstoke hospital.
No further details of her injures are known.
The road was closed for around an hour-and-a-half so emergency crews could deal with the accident.
