CUSTOMERS visiting the Basingstoke branch of Pets at Home raised £2,555 for a local animal charity.
The collection, which saw pet owners donate 50p to pay for a pet's Christmas dinner, or buy an extra toy or treat while shopping, was donated to Hart Wildlife Rescue, in Medstead.
Amy Wilson, charity manager at Support Adoption For Pets, the charity which ran the appeal, said: “The money raised will enable Hart Wildlife Rescue to continue the valuable work they do in the area in finding loving homes for pets.”
