A PENSIONER died last night after being hit by two cars while crossing the road in Odiham.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the collision at Dunley’s Hill, Odiham.

At 6.35pm yesterday evening, the 69-year-old man was crossing the B3349 at Dunley’s Hill, near the town centre, when he was in collision with a Toyota Yaris.

The pedestrian was then struck by a Nissan Navara travelling on the opposing carriageway, sustaining serious head injuries.

He was taken to hospital in Basingstoke by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead a short time after arrival.

Police are in the process of informing next-of-kin.

The driver of the Yaris, a 52-year-old woman from Bramley, and the driver of the Navara, a 47-year-old man from Fleet, have both given a full account to police. No arrests were made.

Police are appealing for witnesses to help them build a clear picture of the circumstances leading to the fatal collision.

Anyone who witnessed it should call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Eastleigh on 101, and quote Operation Peppo.
