POLICE have released details of an attempted armed robbery which happened at a post office in Tadley this morning.

Five hours after the incident, Hampshire Constabulary has now confirmed that witnesses described seeing a man wearing dark grey clothing, including a balaclava and hooded top, who entered the Post Office in Mulfords Hill at 9.41am and threatened a female member of staff. She was not injured and nothing was taken.

The store has been cordoned off while investigations take place, and an area search was also carried out to identify any potential suspects.

No arrests have been made yet.

Police are investigating whether a car fire involving a black saloon at Wildwood Drive is connected to the attempted robbery.
