A PATIENT has been taken to Basingstoke hospital this afternoon, after a car overturned at Brighton Hill roundabout. 

Ambulance crews treated two patients at the scene of the incident before one patient was transported to the hospital, in Aldermaston Road, at around 4.45pm.

Crews were called to Winchester Road at 3.51 this afternoon after receiving calls about an overturned car.

Three ambulances and an ambulance officer rushed to the incident, along with firefighters from Basingstoke station.

Crew manager Neil Buckner, of Basingstoke fire station, said two cars had been involved.

He said: "There were two people in one car who needed medical treatment, but fortunately their injuries did not seem too serious.

"The person in the other car wasn't injured. We stayed at the scene for about half an hour but we were not required to cut the roof off the car."

The A30 is currently blocked due to the accident and there is congestion to Junction 7 of the M3 and on A340 Ringway West to A3010 Churchill Way West / B3400 Churchill Way West.

All approaches to the roundabout are blocked off.
