25 per cent of students at QMC have achieved A* and A grades at A Level - an increase of five per cent on last year.

75 per cent of students have achieved A* - C grades at A Level. 

60 per cent of students have achieved A - C in AS Level results this year.

The pass rate for A Level results at QMC has stayed the same this year, remaining at 99 per cent.

There is a slight rise in the pass rate for AS Level results at QMC this year, from 86 per cent last year, to 90 per cent this year.

Number of A* grades has risen nationally from 7.6 per cent to 8.2 per cent.

For the third successive year A* and A grades have fallen nationally, down from 26.3 per cent to 26 per cent.

There are a record number of universtity places available, meaning students could still get a place if they miss their grades.

Nationally, there has been a slight fall in A* and A grades and the overall pass rate is down for the first time in 30 years.

There is a real buzz in the air as people catch up with their friends and congratulate each other on their A Level results.

Todd Waterman from Andover is ecstatic after receiving his A Level results.

He achieved a B in English Language, B in Law, D inMathematical  Statistics, C in Mathematic Mechanics and an A in Philosophy.

He is now hoping to study Law at university in Swansea or Sussex.

Sophie Davitt from Tadley has gained a C in English Literature, A in Graphic Design, B in Media and C in her Spanish AS Levels.

Harry Florence also from Tadley has got a B in Drama, B in Politics, C in Pyschology and a C in Law in his AS Level results.

A record number of university places are available this year as students collect thier A Level results. An extra 30,000 university places are available this year and it is expected that for the first time over 500,000 places will be allocated for courses this autumn.

She is planning to study Animation at Southampton Solent University from September.

She told The Gazette:"I am quite nervous but I know I will sort something out no matter what."
