Surrey Police appeal for helping tracing Jason Bratton and Neil Emery

Basingstoke Gazette: Jason Bratton Jason Bratton

TWO men, one with links to north Hampshire, have gone missing from a secure hospital unit.

Police are appealing for help to trace Jason Bratton and Neil Emery, who both absconded from the facility at Epsom General Hospital, in Surrey, at 10.45am on Wednesday, June 25.

Mr Bratton, 36, is known to visit Aldershot, Farnborough, Farnham and Southampton and is a regular user of trains.

He is described as white, of slim build, with short black hair and a blue Celtic band tattoo on his upper arm. He was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a white t-shirt, a grey baseball cap and white trainers.

Mr Emery, 46, has links to the Woking and Richmond areas. He is white with short, black and greying hair, with a scruffy beard and tanned complexion. He was wearing a white t-shirt, three-quarter length khaki trousers and boots.

Both men were detained under the Mental Health Act and are believed to have left without the medication they need.

Detective Inspector Dan Voller, from Surrey Police, said: “Both men do have a history of violence and although there is no indication of any direct threat to the public, anyone who believes they have seen either of the two men are urged not to approach them but to phone police immediately on 101, quoting reference number P14183236.

“Because we believe they have not taken their medication, the men may also be at risk of harming themselves. We are carrying out extensive searches for both men, but we need the public’s help.”
