CHARITABLE thrill seekers have the chance to take part in a parachute jump in aid of a great cause.

The Ark Cancer Centre is looking for people to take on the fundraising parachute jump in September.

The charity is aiming to raise £5million towards a new cancer treatment centre which is to be built in north Hampshire.

Those willing to take on the challenge will plummet 10,000 feet at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour during the tandem skydive, which will take place on Saturday, September 20 at an airfield in Swindon.

Places for the skydive should be booked by July 4, and participants will be asked to raise money for the charity through sponsorship, with those raising more than £400 jumping for free.

Vickie Randall, The Ark Cancer Centre charity manager, said: “We are looking for brave people from Basingstoke, Alton, Andover, West Berkshire, and the surrounding areas to take part in our next skydive day.

“It’s an amazing way to help us raise the £5million we need, and a chance to take part in a unique experience which will help local cancer patients access state-of-the-art treatment facilities for generations to come.”
