KINGSCLERE Parish Council has awarded £100 to a charity which helps victims and witnesses of crimes.

The Basingstoke branch of Victim Support applied to the parish council for a grant of £100 to help them with their running costs and training volunteers.

The charity, which is staffed by volunteers, provides emotional support for victims and people who have witnessed crimes.

According to the charity, it helped 24 people in Kingsclere between April 1 and December 31, last year.
