RESIDENTS and visitors are being asked to have their say on the proposals for a 20-year vision aimed at transforming the Top of The Town.
As previously reported in The Gazette, plans to transform the area include a new 470-space multi-storey car park in Southern Road and building new ‘niche retail’ higher end independent shops.
Councillor Ranil Jayawardena, deputy leader of the borough council, said: “It is essential that we develop an idea of what kind of place we want the Top of The Town to be and we consider how this will fit with the rest of the town’s success, including Festival Place, The Malls and Basing View. Getting views from residents and visitors of Basingstoke on this is an essential part of the process.”
The public consultation ends on March, 7. Go to basingstoke.gov.uk/ go/towncentrevision to comment.
