A BASINGSTOKE hospice is set to open a new retail shop in the town centre.
St Michael’s Hospice, in Alder-maston Road, has announced that its ninth store will open on March 10, at 10am, in Wote Street.
Annie Peters, head of retail for St Michael’s, said: “A store in the centre of Basingstoke has been a long-term aim for us, and we hope that through the support of local people it will be a huge success.
“Our Wote Street store will be open six days a week and will offer a great range of quality clothing and accessories as well as a selection of well-priced second-hand books.
“This will be our ninth retail store, including the furniture store in Wade Road, and they are vital for raising much needed income to fund our services for patients and families in the north Hampshire area.”
St Michael’s Hospice shops are a national award-winning chain, making the highest profit per shop, per week, as recognised in the 2013 Charity Shop Survey. They generate a total profit of over £800,000 towards the hospice’s £3.6million annual running costs.
