DAREDEVILS looking for a heart-stopping way to raise cash for a good cause are being invited to take part in a charity parachute jump.

The Ark Cancer Centre Charity is looking for brave volunteers to jump from a height of 10,000ft on May 10 this year at an airfield in Swindon.

No experience is necessary to take part in the tandem skydive, during which jumpers will reach speeds of more than 120mph.

Vickie Randall, charity manager at The Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said “The skydive is an amazing experience. I have seen so many people take part and feel totally elated when they touch down, not only because it's a unique experience but also because they’ve raised money for a cause that is close to their heart.”

The charity is aiming to raise £5million towards a state-of-the-art cancer centre which is to be built in north Hampshire.

Although the location of the centre is yet to be confirmed, it is thought it will be built in the area of land encircled by the M3, A34 and A303.

The total cost of the centre will be £13million and services offered there will include radiotherapy and chemotherapy alongside a range of supportive services and complementary therapies.
