A CREWMAN from RAF Odiham has been honoured at a star-studded ceremony.
Sergeant Anna Irwin, of 18 Squadron, won most outstanding airman at The Sun Military Awards last night.
The 34-year-old saved the lives of eight injured British soldiers in Afghanistan when she opened fire on Taliban soldiers, using a heavy machine gun bolted to a Chinook helicopter.
Among the guests at last night’s ceremony were Prime Minister David Cameron, Hollywood actor Tom Hardy and comedian Ricky Gervais.
The awards will be screened on ITV1 on Monday at 9pm.
