STAFF at an Odiham shop got into the spirit of Hallowe’en as they gave the premises a spooky makeover for a fundraising day.
The team at the Martins newsagents, in High Street, dressed as witches and put giant cobwebs in every corner of their store as part of the special event.
Games included guessing the name of a teddy bear and how many sweets were in a jar, with all proceeds going to the Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) charity.
The charity also received a donation if customers bought certain products, and shoppers were also able to buy special Hallowe’en packs with a magazine with recipes and party ideas.
Sales assistant Jill Framp said: “It went really well. The customers liked it because a lot of them seemed to know about CRY.
“We made a cake that went to a lady in North Warnborough, and a little girl down the road won the teddy bear.”
The fundraising was part of a national effort by the chain after the 21-year-old son of chief executive James Lancaster died of a sudden cardiac arrest in 2007.
