THE victim of a brutal murder at a flat in a quiet residential road was 21-year-old chef Henry Stangroom, from Rye Common, Odiham.

Police were called to Lavender Sweep, Battersea just before 9pm on Thursday October 17 after concerns were raised by a member of the public, believed to be related to Mr Stangroom.

They forced entry and found the young man dead, alongside another man who was suffering from severe neck wounds.

A post-mortem found the 21-year-old died from stab wounds to his heart and lungs.

The second man, aged 30 was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

He has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and detectives believe he knew Mr Stangroom.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command is investigating.
