DETECTIVES are linking two raids on cash machines that took place on the same morning in Basingstoke.
Thieves tried to break into the cash machine near the Tesco Express store, in Great Binfields Road, Lychpit, between 1am and 2.20am on Monday, September 30.
An attempt was also made to break into the cash machine outside Centaur News, in Kingsclere Road, Houndmills, between 2am and 3am.
Damage was caused to both machines but no money was taken.
Investigators are linking the two raids and believe the offenders would have used a vehicle.
Anyone with information can contact Police Staff Investigator Mike Gray at Basingstoke CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
It is not the first time that thieves have attempted to take cash from the cash machine in Houndmills.
Thieves used crowbars in an attempt to access the cash machine in April this year, but left empty-handed.
