IT was another record breaking year for A Level students at Queen Mary’s College in Basingstoke, with more than 99 per cent passing their exams.

Hundreds of students gathered at the college, in Cliddesden Road, this morning to collect their white envelopes and discover their fate.

The occasion was significant for principal Stephen Sheedy, who is retiring after 18 years leading the college. In his final duty as boss, Mr Sheedy congratulated students for the very last time. He said: “The results are brilliant.”
