CREATIVE pupils have had their work showcased at a Basingstoke college.

The display at Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT), in Worting Road, saw the spotlight put on the work of 70 students from Fort Hill Community School.

Parents, governors, students and visitors attended the show where GCSE art, photography, textiles and product design work was on show, pictured.

Jo Binmore, head of creative arts at Fort Hill, in Kenilworth Road, Winklebury, said: “The students work incredibly hard over the two years of art GCSE, and it has been fantastic to see their work on display in a professional-style gallery space.

“It is great that the students’ work has been seen and valued by people who would not normally get the chance to see it.

“We are always looking for ways to get our students work out into the community so that their true talents can be recognised.

“The variety and standard of the work was universally praised as comments from the visitors’ book highlighted. Visitors used strong, dynamic, exceptional, stunning and humbling words in their description of the students work.”

Natalie Jameson, programme manager for art and fashion at BCoT, added: “It’s great to see the brilliant work of Fort Hill students here at BCoT.

“The variety of work is impressive, and I hope to see some of these students fulfilling their aspirations here as they progress through the college.”
