SILCHESTER Players’ spring production is Tons of Money.
This comedy farce was written by Will Evans and Valentine, and subsequently adapted by Alan Ayckbourn.
Unsuccessful inventor Aubrey Allington inherits the life interest in a fortune, which reverts on his death to his cousin George Maitland.
As Cousin George is thought to have died abroad, Aubrey has the brilliant idea of 'dying' so that he can resurrect himself as his cousin and thus avoid payment of his own enormous debts.
But in the best tradition of farce, complications arise in the form of George's wife, another Maitland imposter (the butler's brother) and finally the real George himself! The real question is who gets the 'Tons of Money'?
Performances take place in Silchester Village Hall on May 8, 9, 15 and 16, and start at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £8 for adults, £6 concessions, and can be booked by calling 0118 981 5600.
