ALMOST 20,000 people enjoyed the recent Anvil pantomime Cinderella.
The Gazette-sponsored show starred Keith Chegwin – who is currently appearing in Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother – as Buttons and CBeebies’ Katy Ashworth as the Fairy Godmother.
Audience numbers increased by 7% from the previous year.
Christine Bradwell, chief executive at Anvil Arts, said: “We were delighted that so many people chose to come to The Anvil as their Christmas treat and everyone had such a great time.
“Not only did we have more adults and children visiting, but school and youth group bookings increased as well. Local Brownie packs again had one whole performance for themselves.
“We also had a greater number enjoying our relaxed performance for those on the autistic spectrum.”
This year’s pantomime is Jack and the Beanstalk which will once again be produced by UK Productions.
Tickets are now on sale now from the box office on 01256 844244.
