A FREE family ticketed event is to take over The Exchange at The Haymarket in October.
ScratchBuilt Productions’ Knight Time is a magical new puppet show which will be presented in Basingstoke in association with Anvil Arts and Proteus Theatre Company.
These performances are part of the Fun Palaces weekend, a national campaign to give everyone the chance to enjoy the arts and sciences free in their own communities.
In the Kingdom of Bravely, the King (King Tony the Wise) holds the Knight Trials, a contest to find folk in the land who have what it takes to become a knight.
Using a range of puppetry and theatrical techniques, ScratchBuilt Productions tells the story of how Jack Birch, a humble market boy and how he gets himself entangled in the Knight Trials.
The show, which is suitable for children aged three and upwards, lasts 50 minutes and is followed by a puppet making workshop lasting about an hour.
This will be a mixture of colouring, cutting and sticking – no paint – and all materials will be provided.
Knight Time, which takes place on Saturday, October 4 with shows at 11am and 2pm, is a free ticketed event, with a maximum of four tickets per person.
Tickets must be booked in advance from the Anvil Arts box office on 01256 844244.
