TALKING Scarlet presents The Devil at Midnight, written by Brian Clemens, at The Haymarket next month.

See it from Thursday, May 1 until Saturday 3.

The spine-tingling psychological thriller stars Andrew Paul (PC Dave Quinnan in The Bill and Billy Boothe in Where the Heart Is) and Corrinne Wicks (Ella Hart in ITV’s Emmerdale and Dr Helen Thompson in BBC daytime soap Doctors).

Liz Burns, a psychoanalyst, receives an unexpected visitor - Nicki, a deeply troubled young woman who is visited in her dreams by a bearded devil who carries her away to a lonely, terrifying old house.

Liz sees immediately what her visitor is a victim of and, as the details of Nicki’s past life emerge, clues mount up that point to Liz’s husband Jack being involved.  Nicki is out for revenge and, with her brother Billy, she attacks the Burnses; eventually, fully convinced of his guilt, Liz turns on her husband too. The truth is finally revealed as this gripping play reaches its shattering conclusion.
