MAGIC, music and audience participation will abound when writer, actor, and storyteller, David Wood OBE entertains at Bagnor's Watermill Theatre this week.
On Saturday, March 8 at 11am, David will do a storytelling of his world-famous play, book and TV series, The Gingerbread Man. It is suitable for children aged four to 11 years, and adults too.
David will take the audience on a fun-filled adventure with the mischievous Gingerbread Man in his re-telling of the classic tale. Favourite characters will be brought to life including Herr Von Cuckoo, Mr Salt, Miss Pepper, the Old (Tea) Bag and the ever hungry Sleek the Mouse.
David, who was awarded an OBE in 2004 for his services to literature and drama, is perhaps best-remembered from his BBC TV performing days on Jackanory, Play Away and Tricky Business.
His stage adaptations include James and the Giant Peach, The Tiger Who Came To Tea and the Olivier Award-winning Goodnight Mister Tom.
His adaptations of Roald Dahl’s The BFG and The Witches played for two seasons in the West End as well as touring.
