TICKET sales for the musical Wicked have broken box office records at Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre.     

Wicked is the global musical phenomenon that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz. Tickets went on public sale on Tuesday, October 1 and set a new box office record for an on-sale with 5284 tickets booked.

Ticket buyers had waited in line at the Box Office from 5.15am. The previous record was held by The Phantom of the Opera with 4376 tickets booked in one day.

The strictly limited four-week season at The Mayflower Theatre will run from Tuesday October 21 until Saturday November 15 as part of the award-winning musical’s major UK and Ireland Tour.

The record-breaking London production continues its open-ended run at the Apollo Victoria Theatre where it is already the 15th longest-running musical in West End theatre history.

Wicked has already been seen by over 38 million people around the world and has 9 productions running concurrently.
