JOIN Innovations Jazz Orchestra (IJO) Big Band to celebrate Frank Sinatra's 100th birthday.

Sinatra would have been 100 years old in December and IJO Big Band and their network of vocalists will be holding a charity concert on Saturday, September 19 in Burghfield which is themed around Frank's multitude of hits.

IJO Big Band and their guests will celebrate Sinatra during a night of his songs which will also include more music from the golden era of swing.

The evening's entertainment, which will take place in Burghfield CSA Ballroom, is in aid of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance service.

Innovations Jazz Orchestra was formed in 2000 and currently consists of 20 regular musicians who enjoy playing big band, swing and jazz music.

The band rehearses weekly in Tadley and it's inspired by Sinatra, Basie, Ellington, Fitzgerald - the love of this golden era of music is shared amongst all the band members.

Innovations Jazz Orchestra was formed to capture the very best of this genre of music whilst taking a broad-minded approach to the repertoire to include not only some of the greats, but also tunes that perhaps don't get heard too often in big band music.

The addition of a flute section offers a great versatility to the band's sound - at full pelt, the full sound of the woodwind is a perfect contrast to the strength of the brass whilst in the softer numbers, the flutes add a wonderful lyrical dimension to the sound.

Tickets are priced £10 in advance, £12 on the door.
