TOMMY Allen and Trafficker are to return to Basingstoke for a special charitable gig.

Guitarist, singer and songwriter Tommy, who was born in Basingstoke, started out in his younger years working as a sideman to some of the big names in the blues scene, from Mojo Buford (Muddy Waters Band), Lazy Lester, Otis Taylor, Big Joe Turner to Nicky Moore (Sampson and Mammoth).

In 2001, he needed a band to perform his own original songs, so Trafficker was born. This led to the release of three acclaimed albums over the next four years.

By the end of 2006, touring took its toll and it was time for a change. In 2007, Tommy formed The Blues Duo with his close friend Johnny Hewitt.

As the duo became more popular, Trafficker was off road and parked up waiting for an overhaul.

Now in 2015 Trafficker are back with brand new songs, a new line-up and fresh hunger for the road ahead.

On Saturday, August 29 at 8.30pm, local lad Tommy and his band will perform at The Railway Club, supported by Basingstoke Blues Club.

The night will be in aid of Kabuki syndrome as Tommy’s son has been diagnosed with the condition.

Entry costs £5 entry for non club members. Find out more online at basingstokebluesclub.co.uk.
