POST-election blues? Best get along to Sanctuary for a little bit of live music to perk up the old grey matter.

First up were Tindall, a four-piece from Slough who I have not encountered before. They very quickly won me over with some excellent pop-punk/skate-punk, very lively and very fast.

Basingstoke Gazette:

Not much of a crowd early on alas, but I enjoyed them and hope to see them back again real soon.

Next up were a brand-new Basingstoke band by the name of Lux. Really tight, really competent, generally up-tempo indie type band. They had a few fans in the growing crowd and you could understand why.

Basingstoke Gazette:

Whilst most of their material was rooted firmly in 'mainstream' tastes, a couple of their songs had a bit more bite to them.

Main support was provided by Still Bust from Gloucester. I am very familiar with these chaps and I do make a point of trying to see them whenever I can. Basically, they are your hard and very fast, contemporary hard-core punk.

Basingstoke Gazette:

Their live performances are just busting with power and energy. They were the main attraction for me tonight and they did not let me down. Their set was packed with amazing songs, all blasted out with great passion. Too good for words really.

The headliners were The Twin Dracula from Reading, who I have not seen in a while - maybe they have been in the studio?

Basingstoke Gazette:

But whatever they have been doing, they have not been slack in their musical studies, because they came out with a cracking performance.

The place was pretty packed by now and the crowd were getting a bit frisky too, giving the whole experience a very positive vibe. Election? What election?

Thanks to all the bands and to the Rockbitch sound and bar staff for a damn fine night.
