Basingstoke Gazette:

BASINGSTOKE Live is the annual free two day event taking place in the heart of the town.

The event showcases the best in local artists alongside national and international performers. This year’s line-up sees five stages packed with a mix of music and dance from a huge range of artists. There’s something for everyone!

This week, JASON and PAUL from Drum Runners reveal what’s happening on the MAIN STAGE

THE Basingstoke Live Forum are excited to present another great line-up for the Main Stage of this years’ Festival.

Our Saturday headliners are KREPT & KONAN who in early 2013 released a string of mainstream club hits which saw the duo achieve playlist success from MTV, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Choice FM and Kiss TV.

In September 2013, the Young Kingz mixtape was released featuring Tinie Tempah, Chip, Giggs, Fekky and G FrSH and with no national radio or TV playlisting, no label backing and promotion care of their social networks, Krept & Konan independently charted the mixtape in the top 20 Official Album Chart.

In the same week, they learnt of their nomination for their first MOBO Award in the category of Best Newcomer - they went on to win in October 2013.

On stage before Krept & Konan is another rising talent, 20-year old SNEAKBO, a scholar of the university of life and a kingpin from the new wave of UK rap talent. Coupling his love for entrepreneurialism with Afro Caribbean sounds, Sneakbo really has found the formula to roll out and lock off the rave.

Basingstoke Gazette:

With over 20 million YouTube channel views notched up in just over a year, Sneakbo’s latest mixtape, I’m Buzzin’, secured 50,000 downloads in a mere day and a half.

We also have our eclectic mix of local talent ranging from metal legends KARRION, hitting the stage with their classic rocking out performances, to EMMA LAWRENCE who is fast establishing herself as a popular singer/songwriter with her acoustic fusion of folk and R&B.

Basingstoke Gazette:

Britain’s No1 Soul band, THE REAL THING, take to the stage to headline on the Sunday as they celebrate an incredible 40 years in the business.

Basingstoke Gazette:

The three original vocalists, Chris and Eddie Amoo and Dave Smith perform with their band in a show that includes all their million selling hits - You To Me Are Everything, Can’t Get By Without You and Feel The Force.

All of the latter tracks were remixed in the ‘80s and became huge hits again thanks to the band’s massive following. This is going to be a time to get your groove on!

Heading up before The Real Thing is Basingstoke’s own NATASHA WATTS (below), winner of the best new soul act for Soulsurvivors magazine in 2013.

Basingstoke Gazette:

The exciting launch of her new album in February 2014 has seen regular national airplay and an ever-increasing following. Natasha has written every track on the album and this show cases not only her beautiful vocals but her ability to write a killer track.

The world is really starting to notice this wonderful home-grown talent!
