Basingstoke Live 2014
July 12-13, War Memorial Park, Basingstoke

LAST year saw the team from local promoters Rockbitch try and put their own stamp on Basingstoke Live, pulling in some new acts mixed in with some old favourites.
And it worked so well that they thought they'd try it again in 2014!
This year also sees Rockbitch celebrate 10 years in the game – so they've bought back some old friends to close the festival and bought some new faces in.
Only one act from last year’s Amped stage has come back so come and hang out and hear the fantastically fresh line-up over the two days of the event.
Jon Rockbitch said: “We're really proud of this year’s lineup , which has so much quality throughout. We have made sure to include lots of bands we've fallen in love with over the last year.”
Compere: Andrew MacIntyre
Possibly the only man in Basingstoke brave enough to wear denim hotpants and a waistcoat, Andy is one of the most colourful characters around.
The bass player from Glow In The Dark Shark, Shotgun Chevy and a couple of others, he's been confusing people for years.
With his slightly ‘interesting’ mind – which isn't always connected to his mouth – he’ll bring flamboyance to his introductions. When he's off playing with another band, Ollie Begbie will be throwing words out at the crowd.
This year, they may know what’s going on!
SATURDAY
Saturday is traditionally the ‘lighter’day of the two with the aim to build up throughout the day, culminating in a big party headlined by KTS, who’ll bring their own brand of Dubstep. Their cracking vocals and ace live show have all the right ingredients to keep people dancing.
They’ll be ably supported by Burning Idols (who played the main stage Sunday in 2013) and Fake the Attack (last appeared in 2012) amongst others, including the pop punk vibes of Escape from 98, the ‘90s styled shoegazy indie of Fire At Night and the hip hop influenced Archean Soundtrack. There should be something for everyone.
SUNDAY
The day of rock! This year, Rockbitch have gone back through their archives and picked out a band who played for them in the early days – and have gone on to great things.
Devil Sold His Soul have released three amazing albums and toured the world. They recently signed to Basick Records and are one of the best live acts in the country, blending huge soundscapes, earth shattering riffs and soaring melodies. DSHS come straight from their appearance on TechFest to close the Amped Tent.
Main support for the day comes from Ded Orse, who will be playing Bloodstock Festival this year. They're not going to just bludgeon you with heaviness all day though – savour the classic sounds of Wreck and the post rock tones of Lightboxes.
