THREE spectacular shows will grace the stage of the Anvil as the ballet comes to town.

From February 1, through February 3, ballet lovers will be able to enjoy performances of the Snow Maiden, the Nutcracker and Swan Lake.

The trio of productions are part of the Russian State Ballet of Siberia touring showcase which is going all around the UK.

The company has established itself as one of Russia’s leading ballet companies and has built an international reputation for delivering performances of outstanding quality and depth.

Soloists and corps de ballet are exceptional, delighting audiences with their breathtaking physical ability and beautiful costumes as each storyline unfolds to the live accompaniment of the orchestra.

Made up of more than 40 dancers and 30 musicians, traditional and digital worlds are merged with an imaginative staging set against an ever-changing colourful backdrop full of magical special effects.

Artistic director of the Russian State Ballet of Siberia Sergei Bobrov said: “It is always a pleasure to bring the unique traditions of Russian Ballet to British audiences.

“Touring across the UK with a full company of dancers as well as highly skilled musicians is always exciting; for me, it is very special to have the power of a symphony orchestra bringing the choreography to life on stage.”

All three ballets are well-known to the art form, but for Bobrov and his team, it is giving them that Russian State Ballet of Siberia touch which makes these performances stand out.

The Snow Maiden is based on a traditional folk-tale, set in the snow-covered landscape of rural Russia, the Nutcracker takes its audience on a journey to an enchanted place where the magic really begins and Swan Lake is arguably the greatest and most well-recognised romantic ballet of all time is brought to life by Tchaikovsky’s haunting and unforgettable score.
